AMCA is headed by Alister McDermott who is the Owner and Director. Alister has nearly a decade of professional cricket experience playing for the Queensland Bulls, Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder in the BBL and Australia A in both Four-day and One-day cricket. Alister is Head Coach and still heavily involved as a player for Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club.

Alister spent his childhood growing up on the Gold Coast being involved in cricket, soccer, swimming, tennis and surf life saving, yet cricket was always his passion and true love. Alister’s career starting in 2008/09 as a rookie, and made his debut in T20 cricket for QLD Bulls as the youngest player in Australia. The following year Alister debuted in One-day and Four-day cricket for QLD. Over the next 6 years, Alister played 73 professional games and was involved in QLD’s Bulls Sheffield Shield win in 2012/13, QLD Bulls One-day win in 2013/14, Brisbane Heats BBL|02 championship and Sydney Thunders win in 2016/17.

Currently Alister is pursuing a Bachelor degree in Secondary Education where he hopes to one day teach Health and Physical Education and English. Alister hopes one day to use his passion for sport to inspire the next generation of kids to enjoy being active and provide them with opportunities to chase their dreams.
